Circulate Knowledge at CTC Expo, Science Fair

Last updated 2 years ago

Imagine traveling the equivalent of twice the earth’s circumference at breakneck speed, stopping to load and unload precious cargo along the way. Sound exhausting? Now imagine making that same journey every two minutes! For a red blood cell, this is routine.

Join Chattahoochee Technical College as we embark upon an incredible journey through the circulatory system. Children from 2 to 102 will enjoy hands-on activities, exploring the heart, lungs, and other organs to help better understand what lurks beneath the skin.

Titled Science for EveryBODY: Circulating Knowledge, the mini expo, to be held Friday, March 27, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in building 400 on the North Metro Campus, will be presented by the College’s biology department and will include the assistance of CTC students. Featuring anatomical models of circulatory structures and associated organs, participants will build functional models to demonstrate cardiovascular and respiratory function, touch real, preserved specimens, and more.

On the following day, Saturday, March 28, Science for EveryBODY will be one of the activities participating in the Atlanta Science Festival’s Exploration Expo, an interactive day of demos, hands-on activities, and stage shows at Centennial Olympic Park. While Science for EveryBODY and the other activities at the ASF are geared toward 8-13 year olds, the events promise an entertaining experience for all ages.

The Exploration Expo is the culmination of the ASF, a weeklong celebration of local science and technology held March 20-28. Scientists and educators from local colleges, museums and companies will uncover mysteries and explain discoveries in hands-on activities, facility tours, stimulating presentations, and riveting performances for adults and children of all ages. More than 100 events will occur across the metro area
